This passive piezoelectric buzzer works based on piezoelectric effect. When external square wave signal is applied to the piezo ceramic chip, the ceramic plate creates mechanical deformation and rapid vibration to produce audible sound. As a passive buzzer, there is no built-in oscillator. You need to supply square wave signal by MCU to trigger sound output. Without copper coil, it generates extremely low electromagnetic interference compared with electromagnetic buzzers.
This pin mount piezo buzzer is widely used for audio reminder and alarm signals:
Smart sensors & IoT modules
Portable handheld instruments
Small household appliances control panel
Mini security alarm devices
Medical portable electronics
Wearable electronic equipment

Q: Is BP1360-40 active or passive buzzer? A: It is passive piezo buzzer, no built-in oscillator. External MCU square wave signal is required to produce sound.
Q: What is the maximum rated current? A: Max rated current is 5mA, low power consumption for battery-operated products.
Q: What is the dimension of this buzzer? A: Diameter 13mm, height 6.0mm, compact pin mount design for PCB soldering.
Q: What is the difference between piezo buzzer and electromagnetic buzzer? A: Piezo buzzer uses ceramic wafer vibration, low current and low EMI. Electromagnetic buzzer relies on coil and diaphragm with higher current consumption. Piezo type is more suitable for compact electronic devices.
Q: Can I get samples for testing? A: Yes, samples are available for prototype and acoustic performance verification.
Q: Is this buzzer RoHS compliant? A: Yes, TAT BP1360-40 meets RoHS requirement, certificate can be provided.
