This passive piezoelectric buzzer operates based on the piezoelectric effect. When external square wave signal is applied to the piezo ceramic chip, the ceramic plate generates mechanical deformation and rapid vibration to produce audible sound. As a passive buzzer, there is no built-in oscillator. An external MCU square wave signal is required to trigger sound output. Without copper coil, it creates much lower electromagnetic interference than electromagnetic buzzers.
This ultra-thin pin mount piezo buzzer is widely used for audio reminder and alarm signals:
Slim IoT modules & smart sensors
Wearable electronic equipment
Thin household appliance control panels
Mini security alarm devices
Portable handheld instruments
Flat panel medical electronics

Q: Is BP1625S-40 active or passive buzzer? A: It is passive piezo buzzer, no built-in oscillator. External MCU square wave signal is required to produce sound.
Q: What is the maximum rated current? A: Max rated current is 3mA, ultra-low power consumption for battery-powered products.
Q: What is the dimension of this buzzer? A: 16.3×16.3×2.6mm, ultra-thin pin mount design for PCB soldering.
Q: What is the difference between piezo buzzer and electromagnetic buzzer? A: Piezo buzzer uses ceramic wafer vibration, low current and low EMI. Electromagnetic buzzer relies on coil and diaphragm with higher current consumption. This piezo model is more suitable for slim and compact electronic devices.
Q: Can I get samples for testing? A: Yes, samples are available for prototype and acoustic performance verification.
Q: Is this buzzer RoHS compliant? A: Yes, TAT BP1625S-40 meets RoHS requirement, certificate can be provided.
